I'll Love You Forever (But Here Come the Robots) [1995] The Gumbys

about

All my childhood I had been experimenting with cassettes, editing with double deck and tape, putting it backwards, altering the tape in several ways. I could say it was the first musical instrument I have learned (something in common with ex-chicle and musical partner in many projects, Martín Villa). Then, when I was ten I got a little keyboard, and started recording what I played with it. I made up an imaginary band for these recordings: The Gumbys, after the clay figures by Art Clockey I loved to watch on TV. This Gumbys thing went on for ten years until I had no time to do it anymore, by then I was making music professionally already. Most of this material is terrible, but some of it is very interesting. “I'll Love You Forever…" is probably the best, and the only song with vocals, since Gumbys music was strictly instrumental. The reference to Kraftwerk is pretty obvious.

lyrics

I'll love you forever
I'll love you forever
but here come the robots
I'll love you forever

I'll love you forever
I'll love you forever
but here come the robots
I'll love you forever

I'll love you forever
I'll love you forever
but here come the robots
but here come der roboter

I'll love you forever
I'll love you forever
but here come the robots
I'll love you forever
